  • In Hotmail how do I "send and file" a copy of my reply message? Messages don't seem to go to my sent messages file automatically. Mark

  • Thank you, mark800, for your thank you and tip, I appreciate it. Sorry I misunderstood your Forwarding question. Sincerely, hummer

  • Thanks! I have one more somewhat related question... I'll tip to compensate for this. How do you/can you "forward" messages? (i.e. send a saved message to the original sender that shows the headers from the saved message - date/time - and then the body of this original message)

  • Hi mark800, Good, I'm glad to hear you can now keep a copy of your sent messages. I think the reason Hotmail doesn't give you the option to save a copy of every email is because the more emails you save, the faster your account will fill up. In regards to forwarding, open the email message that you want to forward. Click on the "Forward" button at the top of the page. The original Subject, Header, and Message should be displayed in the next window - you should only need to add the "To" email address. Hotmail provides a "Help" section. Click on "Help" at the top-right of the page, and then click on the plus-sign next to "Mail" (on the left of the page). You'll have a choice of topics to choose from. Please let me know if you have any trouble, hummer

  • Hi mark800, Before you hit the "Send" button, make sure to put a check mark next to "Copy Message to Sent Folder", which you'll find just below the box where you typed your reply. You will have to do this every time you want to send a message, Hotmail doesn't remember this selection. Hotmail Tips, Tricks and Secrets http://email.about.com/cs/hotmailtips/qt/ To save a copy of a sent message in Hotmail: "Make sure the checkbox next to Copy Message to Sent Folder is selected when you compose a message. Unfortunately, this setting is not saved by Hotmail, so you have to select the checkbox every time you send a message and want it saved to the Sent Folder." http://email.about.com/cs/hotmailtips/qt/et022502.htm I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please post a clarification request before closing/rating my answer. Thank you, hummer Google Search Terms Used hotmail tips hotmail reply send keep copy

  • Thanks for the help!! I understand the forward feature for mail in my "in box" but not for messages in a saved folder. It doesn't seem that there is an option other than to resend with comments. I'd prefer to have the original headers go with the message. Oh well.
