i'm just about to rip a bunch of DVDs to h264 (all standard def stuff), and remembered I had a couple of h264 football matches that stuttered during playback, so I was wondering if anybody's found an approximate max bitrate that the xbox is capable of playing back at?

of course i'm just assuming the problem i had was bitrates were too high, it might've been something else. any tips etc would be sweet.

    cheers.

  • For the Xbox you are much better of using good old XviD or DivX, then you are not limited by bitrate, you will have higher compability with other players, (yes the files will be larger but the quality should be better since again you are not limited by the bitrate).

However if you insist on encoding your videos in H.264 then read this => http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33429

  • Yes, definately check out that thread mentioned above by Gamester17. Please post back your experience with the xBox264 settings...
