Cannot get files/folders to list in xbmc

i havent changed any settings on my computer at all everything was working fine with the older release, i would connect to my network and open the folder on my computer and it would list everything for video/music/pics (etc) but now with the updated version i keep seeing my network, my drive letters are shown, i open the drive and nothing is viewable, ..ive tried sharing single folders , they show up in xbmc, i open the folder and nothing is displayed, im going nuts, i have my firewalls turned off, everything is as it was when it worked, ...please help (if you can)

nevermind i figured it out

i had to increase the irpstacksize value in my registry on my pc,
