aren't i doing right to customize the home buttons in xbmc 1.1 on the code below? is iit possible to customize the buttons in the latest version? thanks 0 not quite. if i understand correctly from what little is written about them, homebuttons are to change keymappings for the remote. you could call any number of windows or commands via this area of the xml. the description would be irrelevant and only for your own refernce in the xml file unless there was a custom key mapper already built into xmbc, then it could display the descriptions. am i on the right track here?...... - 2008-11-19

They were accompanied by a number of experts in certain fields, but these persons did not belong to the accredited delegation itself. » time limit access to winXP for kids
Do any of you know of any software for win xp pro to strictly manage time use of a kids computer? Maybe something like internet cafes use? But without destroying windows like that evil junk from netnanny and similar! I'd use the agnitum content plugin to discourage access to porn sites, but I can't seem to figure out how to set minutes a day/week without actual personal intervention. thanks :)You can set a start and stop time for individual rules so you could "manage" Internet access by having a time-limited Allow rule followed by a Block rule (to prevent access outside this time) with another Allow rule (with no time limits). » My first post, security question
Hello everyone, I am a long-time fan of vBulletin as a member of www.asusboards.com. I am currently in the process of justifying why my college should use it to share info amongst students but some of the not-so-tech savvy administration is raising their arms with concerns that this wonderful "app" might create major security risks. Does anyone know of any major ones to comment on or ways I can argue that vBulletin won't be any worse than the average college student's website hosted on similar servers from within the University network? Hope to establish a great working relationship with the members of this community as I have found great information at my current forum board. I have been amazed at the way this method of inform...... - 2008-11-19
» Camera recommendations for a newb?
So... I'm looking at buying my first "real" camera. :blushing: I've always loved photography on a basic level, without knowing anything about the ins and outs... my camera is always in my bag. My dad was a photographer (although we've never discussed it and I've never seen his stuff other than pictures of me), so maybe it's a genetic thing? Anyway, I'm in the market for the best camera I can find for the money. Looking at the books, I think my cap is going to be around $2000. I'd like to be able to get some starter lenses for that money, too... so... what kind of quality am I looking at with that budget? What would you recommend? Someone suggested a Canon Digital Rebel... Thanks guys!you might find some value in searching the forums ...... - 2008-11-19

» Two wedge tornadoes at the same time?
After looking more at last Wednesday's tornadoes in sw NE it got me wondering. Are there any examples out there for 2 wedge tornadoes next to one another? Or even stories of that? All I can think of is one Al Moller was talking about on a video of Sam Barricklow's during a chaser convergence. It was in reference to the June 15, 1992 northern KS event(think that is the date). I can't think of any images or video of such a thing. I wonder because the storm southwest of Grant NE the other night was awefully darn close to doing that. Here is an image of Matt Kassawara and Chris Rozoff's chase: http://gauss.atmos.colostate.edu/~rozoff/chasing/28mar07/t4698.jpg (http://gauss.atmos.colostate.edu/%7Erozoff/chasing/28mar07/t4698.jpg) I ...... - 2008-11-19

I am really considering one of those home delivery movie services but there are so many and I really just don't know what is giving the best deals. Not only that but I need something that is a little on the cheaper side. I don't really care for getting a whole bunch of movies at once because I can't just sit and watch them. The other MAJOR thing that I need is Anime. I need a place that has a very vast and huge amount to keep the old man happy. Does anyone have any ideas??I'd say Netflix is the way to go. They were the originators of this business, and I've used them a few times so far, and love the service. I'm sure they have a great selection of anime as well. » Anyone heard of plans for Canon EOS 5D replacement?
I have been doing a lot of research for my next camera lately...I want to be sure that I won't be disappointed with my investment. I am leaning towards the EOS 5D, because I like the full frame sensor and it also has a high megapixel count. My only hesitation is the fps rate of 3. The 40D has a higher frame rate of 6.5, but not a full frame sensor. I'm wondering if anyone has heard any rumors of Canon releasing a replacement for the 5D since it came out in 2005? I wonder if they will release a faster successor to the 5D. I will probably buy my next camera in 2008, so I might wait longer if Canon does plan on a replacement for the 5D. Hey everybody. I just got my new Canon 400D. It came with the kit lens and Ill probably be sticking with that for a month or two. I WILL be purchasing the Canon 50mm f/1.8 soon, but I just want to plan ahead with my next lens. I don't have a "budget" per say, but I do not want to be spending a ridiculous amount of money yet. Thats going to go towards the Sigma 70-200mm I'm eyeballing for further down the road. hehe Anyways, I just wanted to know if you guys had any recommendations. I JUST got my first dSLR so I cant exactly pinpoint what I want to shoot. » Life on the train
A while back, I read a very interesting book that compared life to a train ride or a series of train rides. Life is like a train ride, it read. We get on. We ride. We get off. We get back on and ride some more. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy, some will result in profound sorrow. When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Those people are our parents! Sadly, this is far from the truth. Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, gui...... - 2008-11-19
» PhpDig Version 1.8.4 Released
Hi. PhpDig version 1.8.4 has been released as a 'minor+' release. The changes can be found in the Changelog (http://www.phpdig.net/info/changelog.txt) file. There are five database table changes. To upgrade, make the changes to the database tables, reconfigure the new connect.php and config.php files, and copy over all of the files, overwriting the old files. If you downloaded PhpDig 1.8.4 prior to the date of this post, the attached file contains some minor changes that you should make. The most pertinent change deals with the textbox and how URLs entered are read. Initially PhpDig 1.8.4 exploded textbox links on "http" (without the quotes) but this may cause a problem if you try to crawl a link such as http://www.http-in-domain-name.com so...... - 2008-11-19
» Should the graduated income tax system be abolished?
I beleave it should it is an unfar system that punishes those who make more. I bleave there should be a flat tax for everyone reguardless of imcome one makes. You would not run a a store charge more to a individual because he makes more than another custumer purchasing the same product and the same amount of that product would you?.I voted no as I think it should be reformed and simplified greatly to get the special interests out. But not abolished. A flat tax would be regressive and unfair to the poor and lower class.Rivet, yes.. unfair. How is it unfair if everyone pays the same percentages? » Some questions in general
Hi folks, I used to use Vbulletin about two years ago on the backside for admining but I'll be honest when I say I haven't a CLUE about PHP, MYSQL databases or the like but that I really enjoyed the look and feel of the website (now defunct, I left well before it went down) and I now find myself in a position where I would like to recreate that ease and look (we used VBadvanced to make a homepage layout). Now, if it comes down to it, I'll pay to have it installed, but that is money that I can well afford elsewhere to be honest and I figure I had better get a hand on this somewhat if I'm going to manage it overall (I would hate to crash the whole system like a twit and not have anyone to fall back on for help). » Removing large component causes "stop running this script" error
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem in Ext 2.1: I have a rather large component (X), with many child components. If I call its parent's remove(X) method in IE7, I get the "unresponsive script ... stop running this script?" message. I noticed that if I comment out the line "this.el.removeAllListeners();" in Ext.Component.destroy(), I don't get the error. Digging into that code, I see that it's calling Ext.lib.Event.getListeners on each element that it removes. And this seems to loop through a global list of listeners and unloadListeners, looking each time for the ones on the element it's removing. Would it be possible to index this list by the node ID, so it doesn't have to loop through every listener on every node ...... - 2008-11-19

» Need help with wide angle lense selection
I am new to the DSLR world, still learning all the acronyms and everything. Since I am entry level, I chose a Canon 300D. I am not looking to be a professional photographer, just supporting a hobby that I acquired a year or 2 ago. Along with my 300D, I also purchased a Sigma lense kit, with 70-300/1:4-5.6 macro, and a 28-70mm/1:2.8-4. I know these lenses arent the best, but they do good for me and the camera budget I am currently allowing myself. I need a wide angle lense now, and I will pretty much complete the kit I am looking to own. I just can't fathom paying $1300 for a lense for some reason. » Posting of Photos
I want to set up a board where the thraed starts off with a picture and details of trades people. Then I want the ability for people to leave comments about their experience with their services. My questions regarding photos - Can we also allow that poster to attach a photo that would display as a thumbnail when people were viewing post? (maybe in place of avatar) - With having the ability for people to add these photos and them being displayed as thumbnails... will this cause too many problems when the board gets quite sizeable in concurrent users and data? You can allow people to attach pictures and other files however you will have to add code to allow graphics to be displayed as thumbnails. Everything you add to the system w...... - 2008-11-19

So I've been keeping track of the 4 youth players I've sold. 3 out of the 4 of them haven't played a game yet. They just keep getting passed around between teams. It's such a waste of talent. :( But then I see the thousand dollars or so I get every time one of them are sold to another team...and I don't mind too much. I'd still rather see them all play at least 1 game for each team they've been on.[Bubba Clinton]I feel your pain[/i] My two youth pulls so far have a total of 10 TSI. :(...... - 2008-11-19

If you need a cheap lens, look at the 70-300 DI version like the one here at DELL Online (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Digital_SLR/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A1365214), will run you $150-200. » N75 lens compatibility
I'm still new to the idea of interchangable lenses. What types(manual focus, zoom, aperture) of lenses will work with the body? Also, what are some respectable lens brands.See this page for a list of Nikon body/lens compatibility and an explanation of Nikon lens types: http://www.nikonians.org/html/resources/nikon_articles/other/compatibility.html Basically, any AUTOFOCUS Nikkor (or 3rd party AF lens) will work on your N75. This includes AF, AF-D, AF-G, AF-I and AF-S types in the Nikkor line. Manual focus lenses will mount on your N75, but will work only in manual exposure mode, and you will have no in-camera metering. No in-camera exposure metering? harsh. No in-camera exposure metering? harsh. Posted in another section, originally didnt here but apparently this forums relaxed on the rules of each section. Looking for a super wide angle or fisheye lens for a Rebel XT, budget of around maybe a little above 300. Will be used for skateboarding. Main emphasis or desire is sharpness and color. Broswed through B&H, theres tons of options and id like to get some good input from the community before making a purchace. So far the peleng 8mm has caught my eye. All input is appreciated, and thankyou my fellow photographic fiends!I'm thinking the little abot $300 should be about $150 a little. As far as color, I think that's more of the body, not the lens. Thus, I turn to those more knowledgeable than me yet again. How would I express "Thank you for offering to carry my bags the other day" in Japanese?

But not abolished. A flat tax would be regressive and unfair to the poor and lower class.Rivet, yes.. unfair. How is it unfair if everyone pays the same percentages? I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem in Ext 2.1: I have a rather large component (X), with many child components.

I just can't fathom paying $1300 for a lense for some reason. i have a canon rebel xt and i just wanna add a tele lens to my collection of lenses. i was thinking of getting the tamron 75-300 it seems prettt good. just wanderin if anyone knows were i could get it for 50-60 bucks. and if not i was also lookin at the canon 75-300 lens. also i wanna now wat you think of the lenses. thanks50-60 bucks for a lens? Naw man. Even if you could...it's not worth it. You're lookin to spend AT LEAST 200...and that's not even for a good lens. No, that lens is not very good at all.
No in-camera exposure metering? harsh. No in-camera exposure metering? harsh. » Super wide angle or fisheye on budget
As far as color, I think that's more of the body, not the lens. i have a v1.6 xbox, with an executer 2.6 lite installed (with evox m8+ as my bios) and i'm using xbmc as my dashoard. this bios has a built in igr function, and when i use it (from anywhere... a game or xbmc) it resets twice. in this order: it resets and loads the xbox logo, then it resets again and loads everything properly. this only happens using igr, not when i turn the system on and it doesn't happen for any other dash program (such as unleashx or evolutionx). anyone have an idea of how i can fix this? it's not a major problem, but it is a little annoying. thanks for any help.i had found the same problem. to overcome i used evtool to patch bios for 'quick' igr. the default seems to be 'compatible'.thanks! works like a charm and it...... - 2008-11-19

The other day, a schoolmate kindly offered to help me carry some heavy-looking suitcases that I was lugging. I declined but thanked him. In the following days, I met up with him and, in Japanese, wanted to thank him again, specifically, for offering to help. But when I couldn't figure out how to say it. Thus, I turn to those more knowledgeable than me yet again. How would I express "Thank you for offering to carry my bags the other day" in Japanese? I have a feeling that it will be something really simple, but nothing much is coming to mind. I'm not sure if anyone else has talked about this yet, but apparently, a spotter was killed by the tornado that went through Racine, MO. He was in the emergency rooms last night. The guy was in his early twenties, and a volunteer firefighter who was acting as a spotter on Saturday. I don't know much about how spotters work. I just found out that there is an U-21 National Team solely for Serie B players. I never knew there were two U-21 Italy teams. Although, it seems that the Serie B National Team just plays Primavera squads...Yep, I posted the call-ups once in the Serie B thread. Looks like they sometimes play U-21 national teams from other countries (Belgium, last year), although not yet this year. There is also a U-20 team from Serie C which plays an annual series of international matches called the "Mirop Cup". The Serie B U-21s played the Serie C U-20s last week, with the Serie C boys winning 1-0! Bibilousness...defined. Here's an article from the Japan Times. Please read responsibly. On a Friday night in Tokyo, there's no place livelier than Shibuya.
